medi Arm fix® – shoulder support for immobilisation
A secure positioning of the shoulder and elbow joints is possible with the shoulder support medi Arm fix®. The shoulder support holds the arm at a 0 degree angle (abduction) and rotated inwards. The arm is fixed in this position and movements are strictly limited. The hand remains freely mobile. The upper and lower arm pockets are easy to open, thus enabling early functional treatment to be initiated without having to take off the medi Arm fix® completely. However, the attending doctor should first be consulted before beginning the exercises. The shoulder support protects against detrimental joint movements and promotes the healing process. It is used for all indications requiring immobilisation of the shoulder joint in internal rotation, such as:
- Nonsurgical treatment after anterior shoulder dislocation and /or chronic subluxation
- After rotator cuff repairAcromioclavicular joint dislocation (nonsurgical, postoperative)
- Scapula fractures (nonsurgical, postoperative)
- Fractures of the humerus head (nonsurgical, postoperative)
The medi Arm fix® shoulder support can reduce movement-related pain. It is also easy to put on unassisted, which guarantees a rapid immobilisation of the shoulder. The preformed upper arm loop makes it easier for the user to fasten the shoulder support one-handed. The high-quality padding material provides high wearing comfort.
medi Arm fix® is available in three sizes with different waist strap widths. The support can be worn on both the left and the right.
