What scales (scores) are there to help calculate a patient's individual risk of thrombosis?
In contrast to assessing the risk of decubitus, there are hardly any risk scores available for assessing the risk of thrombosis. The best known is a risk score from Dr Caprini in the US. This has been translated and published in Germany in a slightly modified form by Kümpel, Schweiz and Frowein.
The common factor shared by all these risk scores is that they are not evidence-based, so they do not have any scientifically proven informative value.
