The benefits of lateral seam on mediven flat knit compression stockings
Thanks to the lateral seam in mediven flat knit stockings, patients are able to reap the benefits in their treatment with an even more comfortable feeling in the sensitive back of the knee – especially in combination with the knee functional zone. In addition, the lateral seam provides a sporty look and the seamless seat and tread area ensure greater wearing comfort.
Does the lateral seam have to be noted on the prescription?
The “lateral seam” option may be included on the prescription – but this is not essential. When ordering, the medical supply store specifies whether the compression product should be made with a lateral seam.
Do lateral seam cost more?
No, the lateral seam is an equivalent alternative to the tried and tested rear seam and does not cost any extra.
Where does the lateral seam on the leg and foot run?
The lateral seam runs along the outside of the leg. The seam does not interfere with the little toe, providing a comfortable feeling in the shoe. You can see exactly where the lateral seam runs in the video fitting instructions.
Why does the lateral seam run on the outside and not on the inside?
Seams on the inside of the leg are exposed to greater friction in everyday life. As the seams on the outside wear less quickly, patients can benefit from their compression stockings for longer. Pressure points do not occur in the first place and the seamed fabric does not rub against the skin.
Which flat knit compression stockings are available with lateral seam?
The lateral seam is currently available for the mediven cosy medical compression stocking. As product development is very time-consuming, we have decided to start with one of our most popular products, analyse the feedback and then proceed with further planning.
How do you put on flat knit medical compression stockings with a lateral seam?
