Give a smile

Our motivation is to make people feel better. With medi for help, we have been helping where people in emergency situations without access to medical care are in need of support since 2010. We founded the non-profit aid organisation after the severe earthquake in Haiti to provide aid quickly and unbureaucratically. Starting with a prosthetic focus, we have shifted our focus to lymphology in recent years. We concentrate on the therapy of severe diseases of the lymphatic system caused by organic causes or parasites, such as the lymphatic filariasis, a tropical disease associated with poverty, and podoconiosis, as well as orthopaedic treatment. In addition to Haiti and local initiatives, we have expanded our commitment to other global projects and partnerships in the USA, India and Rwanda.

To medi for help

Pulling together - helping people to help themselves

Sustainable support is even more important than a one-off help. To this end, we specifically promote existing skills on site and support the affected countries in helping them to help themselves. In the future, we want to put medical care in the hands of the local employees. This is already working with great success in Haiti: Haitian orthopedic technician Fabiola Jean Pierre has been running the workshop in Deschappelles since 2017. In addition to the technical core competencies, medi supports with product donations such as adaptive bandages or medical compression products. We use the practical experience from Haiti and the core competencies of medi to make medical care possible for many more people.
